The Allahabad High Court on Friday dismissed a plea searching for a course to the federal government to cremate and cremate the our bodies buried close to the Ganga at varied ghats in Prayagraj.

A division bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Yadav and Justice Prakash Padia noticed that after contemplating the petition, they have been of the view that “the petitioner has not done much research work with regard to the rites and customs which are prevalent among the different communities living together”. The courtroom declined to entertain the petition and allowed the petitioner to withdraw it “with the liberty to file a fresh petition after making inquiries and research regarding the practice of funeral rites in various communities residing on the banks of the Ganges”. .

The petition, filed by advocate Pravesh, had additionally sought a course to the state “to stop/bury the dead bodies near the holy river Ganga”.
