Bollywood celebrities took to social media to congratulate Indian boxers lovlina borgohain On his resounding victory within the ongoing Olympics. She assured India their maiden boxing medal after beating former world champion Nien-Chin Chen of Chinese Taipei to enter the semi-finals on Friday.

The 23-year-old boxer from Assam gained 4-1 to make it to the final 4, the place she is going to tackle defending world champion Busenaz Surmenelli of Turkey.

Farhan Akhtar, who performed a boxer in his newest movie Toofan, was one of many first celebrities to congratulate Lovlina Borgohain.

Anushka Sharma took to her Instagram tales to want Lovleena. Sharing an image of the boxer, she wrote, “Congratulations @lovlina_borgohain on qualifying for the semifinals in the women’s welterweight boxing. Making India proud 🙏”

Randeep Hooda additionally shared a heartfelt word for Lovlina Borgohain on her huge win and gave a shout-out to Northeast India. He wrote, “A new dawn on the northeastern horizon.”

Lovlina Borgohain would be the third Indian boxer to win an Olympic medal after Mary Kom on the 2012 London Olympics and Vijender Singh on the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
