CBI information chargesheet towards 12 in Bengal trainer recruitment rip-off

The CBI on Tuesday filed a chargesheet naming 12 individuals in reference to an alleged rip-off within the recruitment of assistant lecturers for lessons IX and X in secondary and better secondary colleges in West Bengal.

Those named within the chargesheet filed earlier than the Special Judge, Alipore embrace Shanti Prasad Sinha, former advisor to the West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBCSSC) and Kalyanmoy Ganguly, the then chairman of the ad-hoc committee of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. (WBSE).

Following the order of the Calcutta High Court, a case was registered on 7 April relating to the alleged unlawful appointment of assistant lecturers.

“Apart from Sinha and Ganguly, we have also nominated Ashok Kumar Saha, the then Assistant Secretary, WBCSSC; Subir Bhattacharya, then Chairman, WBCSSC; Parna Bose and Samarjit Acharya, then Program Officers of WBCSSC; and six private individuals – Prasanna Kumar Roy, alias Rakesh; Pradeep Singh; Janui Das; Mohammad Azad Ali Mirza; Imam Momin; and Rohit Kumar Jha,” mentioned the CBI spokesperson.

“During investigation, it emerged that the accused, including government servants or private persons, hatched a conspiracy to take undue advantage of giving appointments to ineligible candidates,” a CBI spokesperson mentioned. “Four chargesheeted public servants – Sinha, Bhattacharya, Ganguly and Saha – and two private persons (Roy and Singh) are presently in judicial custody.”
