The Chhattisgarh High Court on Monday quashed the FIR lodged in opposition to former chief minister Raman Singh’s principal secretary Aman Singh and his spouse Yasmin Singh in reference to alleged disproportionate property. An FIR was registered in opposition to the couple by the Chhattisgarh Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Economic Offenses Wing.

Aman Singh had approached the High Court in opposition to the FIR lodged by the state authorities on the grievance of social employee Aapakshi Sharma. The courtroom quashed the FIR as they may not “disclose the commission of the offence” below the provisions in power in it.

A bench of Justice Narendra Vyas noticed that “all the allegations made against the petitioner are prima facie based on probabilities and no person can be prosecuted on the ground of probability”.

Singh was an influential official below the BJP rule and was near the then Chief Minister Raman Singh.
