Chhattisgarh: Maoists kidnap and kill journalist’s household on suspicion of being police informers

In Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, Maoists kidnapped and killed a journalist’s brother on suspicion of being a police informer.

Victim Basant Jhadi was kidnapped by Maoists on Friday and killed on Monday after holding a public courtroom at Kotpalli village on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border, Inspector General of Police (Bastar vary) Sundarraj P mentioned on Wednesday.

He mentioned Jhadi, brother of a neighborhood journalist, was murdered on suspicion of being a police informer.

“As per the information received so far, the victim’s relatives have performed her last rites, but they are yet to lodge a police complaint,” the officer mentioned.

Maoists typically set up ‘Jan Adalats’, the place individuals suspected of being loyal to the state are publicly executed.

In the previous too, the South Bastar area, which incorporates Bijapur, Dantewada and Sukma districts, has witnessed a number of incidents of Maoists killing individuals on suspicion of being police informers.
