Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday issued instructions to take away Narayanpur’s superintendent of police after the officer’s driver alleged that the SP had bodily and verbally assaulted him.
The accused SP Uday Kiran denied the allegations and claimed that he had solely reprimanded constable Jayalal Netam, who was posted as his driver.
Netam, who hails from a tribal group, was admitted to Narayanpur District Hospital on Monday after he complained of ache.
He advised the media: “He (SP Uday Kiran) abused me, scolded me and then hit me – he said I didn’t clean the car properly. He has been abusing in the past as well.”
