Announcing this on Twitter, Gaikwad stated that the CET was fully elective and was being introduced to provide this data to the scholars who need to take the examination, advance data and have sufficient time to organize.

CET can be carried out offline. It can be a a number of alternative question-format check of 100 marks to be carried out in two hours. It can be based mostly on the syllabus of Class 10 SSC, and could have questions from 4 topics -. English, Maths, Science, Social Science – Each topic has a weightage of 25 % marks.

The CET can be carried out for the scholars of all of the boards- State Board, CBSE, ICSE, IB and others whose college students need to research within the junior schools affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

“Class 10, SSC results will be declared by around July 15, after which the state board or examination council will put up a notice for CET and option for students who wish to appear for it. MSBSHSE or Maharashtra State Council of Examination will conduct the examination under the supervision of Maharashtra Education Commissioner. The list of examination centers will be displayed on the website. There will be no fee for CET for state board students as they had already paid the exam fee during registration for SSC exam, which was later cancelled. However, students of other boards will have to pay the entrance exam fee,” Gaikwad stated.

While giving FYJC admission, college students can be given desire on the idea of their marks and qualifying rating as per elective CET. After admitting the scholars who’ve given CET, the scholars who haven’t opted for CET will get admission on the remaining vacant seats in schools.

“Last year the online admission process for class 11th shows that 32 per cent seats remained vacant despite availability. Therefore, students should not fear that they will not get the seat,” the minister stated.
