CoA is not going to deal with IOA issues: SC extends establishment until additional orders

The Supreme Court on Monday prolonged its establishment till additional orders, holding that the three-member Committee of Administrators (CoA) appointed by the Delhi High Court is not going to deal with the affairs of the Indian Olympic Association.

A bench of Justices SA Nazeer and JK Maheshwari sought response from the Center and others on the petition filed by the affiliation.

“Notice issued. Status quo be continued till further orders, list after four weeks,” the bench mentioned.

The matter might be taken up after 4 weeks.

The prime courtroom had earlier taken word of the submissions of Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, showing for the Center and the IOA, that the order could have a unfavorable affect on the nation and ordered interim aid to take care of establishment within the affairs of the IOA.

The CoA appointed by the High Court consists of former Supreme Court choose Justice Anil R Dave, former Chief Election Commissioner SY Qureshi and former Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs Vikas Swarup.

The Delhi High Court had on August 16 ordered the structure of a CoA to handle the affairs of the IOA.
