Coal pilferage case: Questioned by ED for 8 hrs, Abhishek Banerjee hits again at BJP

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday questioned Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP and celebration nationwide common secretary Abhishek Banerjee at its New Delhi workplace for almost eight hours in a cash laundering case linked to an alleged coal rip-off in West Bengal.

Abhishek (34), nephew of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, entered the brand new workplace of the central company in central Delhi round 11am and left shortly earlier than 8pm.

He was accompanied by his safety personnel and authorized staff. Officials mentioned Banerjee’s assertion was recorded beneath the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and he was confronted with some “evidences” gathered by investigators.

He mentioned his spouse Rujira, summoned for questioning on this case on Tuesday, will “not be coming” as she has to deal with their two-and-half-year-old child. She will ship her reply to the investigating officer by way of e-mail, he mentioned.
