Covid-19 outbreak claims one other Premier League match

A coronavirus outbreak at Everton has pressured the suspension of the membership’s match at Burnley, the Premier League mentioned on Friday.

It is the third match within the Boxing Day lineup to be postponed as a part of Sunday’s schedule which nonetheless has six video games to go.

The Premier League has now referred to as off 13 matches in two weeks resulting from coronavirus points, with gamers required to self-isolate after testing optimistic or if they’re unvaccinated and shut contacts of a COVID-19 case. Huh.

Everton had requested for a postponement, citing virus circumstances and accidents, and the league’s board had “regrettably approved” the request.

“The Board today reviewed the club’s request to postpone the match following further injuries to its squad. They concluded that the club will not be able to complete its fixture this weekend as a result of the insufficient number of players available to play due to COVD-19 cases and injuries,” the league mentioned in a press release.

On Thursday, the coronavirus outbreak in Leeds and Watford pressured the postponement of their Sunday matches. Leeds was to journey to Liverpool and Watford was to play at Wolverhampton.

“As a number of clubs experience the COVID-19 outbreak, it is the collective intention of the clubs and the league to continue the current fixture program safely,” the league mentioned.
