CPI(M) condemns Congress chief’s remarks in opposition to Kerala CM

The CPI(M) on Sunday expressed robust protest in opposition to the alleged controversial remarks made by Kerala Congress working president Kodikkunil Suresh about Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his household and sought to know whether or not the celebration management supported the assertion.

Suresh on Saturday mentioned that if Vijayan was the chief of the Renaissance, he ought to have married his daughter to a Dalit.
In an announcement, the CPI(M) requested Congress leaders to “stop personal attacks” in opposition to Left leaders and mentioned such statements had been made to cowl points inside that celebration.

“Congress leaders are making baseless statements and continuously insulting CPI(M) leaders including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The statements that transcend all limits of decency show the downfall of the Congress party. Sonia Gandhi and the state leadership should clarify whether they support the comments made against the CM and his family,” the Communist Party mentioned within the assertion.

It additionally mentioned that the Congress had earlier linked the chief minister and his household to gold smuggling by way of diplomatic items.

Leader of Opposition within the Assembly VD Satheesan mentioned the Congress distanced itself from the remarks made by Suresh, who can be a Lok Sabha member, that this was not the celebration’s stand.

During his sit-in to demand a CBI probe into the alleged SC/ST fund rip-off, Suresh had mentioned the renaissance claimed by Vijayan was a “joke” and alleged that he was ignoring the SC and ST group.

“He (Vijayan) claims to be a renaissance chief… I’m not commenting on that. But if he was such a frontrunner, he ought to have married his daughter to a Dalit. That can be a renaissance. His renaissance is only a sham to stay in energy,” Suresh had mentioned.
