The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) on Sunday authorised Russia’s single-dose COVID-19 vaccine, Sputnik Lite, for emergency use in India.

Sputnik Lite thus turned the ninth COVID-19 vaccine within the nation to be authorised for the grownup inhabitants.

“This will further strengthen the nation’s collective fight against the pandemic,” Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya stated in a tweet.
