The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Tuesday accredited amendments to the Integrated Building Bye-laws (UBBL) to facilitate set up of medical oxygen crops in hospitals.

“However, fire safety clearance from Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization (PESO) and other mandatory clearances, wherever applicable, would be required,” he mentioned.

Oxygen plants with an area of less than 250 square meters are not covered under Delhi Fire Service (DFS) rules and, therefore, are not required to issue fire safety certificates. The plant should be accessible for fire engines through a six-metre wide motorable road and there should not be encroachment or obstruction of internal roads for the movement of fire brigade,” mentioned a senior official.
The resolution was taken at an authority assembly held on Tuesday, which was presided over by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal.
The proposed modification will now be despatched to the Union Home Ministry for closing approval.
