A day after the 65-year-old retired soldier was allegedly killed by three males in an tried theft, the Delhi Police on Thursday arrested two of the three accused.
The deceased has been recognized as Udayveer, who lived together with his spouse Vidya and son Sanjay in Dwarka’s Chhawla space. After his retirement, police mentioned he rented out a few of his properties to earn cash.
The couple had been at dwelling on Wednesday when the police suspect that the accused knew the household. Police mentioned the accused tried to rob however Vidya caught them.
“They (accused) then locked the woman inside a room and attacked Udayveer. He was strangled to death,” mentioned a police officer.
A case was registered and groups had been deployed within the space to conduct raids and conduct CCTV scans. DCP (Dwarka) SK Meena mentioned that his workforce arrested two individuals Yogesh Lala (32) and Rohit (21) from the capital. Lala is a history-sheeter and is concerned in six different legal circumstances whereas Rohit is his affiliate.
A police officer mentioned, “It was not compelled entry. We suspect that the motive behind the homicide was private enmity and theft. The accused knew the sufferer. We are interrogating the relations of the deceased and the accused.”
