Delhi: Additional Sessions Judge’s father-in-law dies in fireplace at Saket House

An 83-year-old man died in a fireplace at a decide’s home in Saket, south Delhi, on Saturday night. Police stated the deceased was the father-in-law of Ashok Talwar Additional Sessions Judge Pooja Talwar. The decide and his household dwell in an condominium within the Saket Court Resident Complex.

While different relations had been evacuated in time, the aged died as a consequence of smoke.

Delhi Fire Service chief Atul Garg stated he received a name in regards to the incident at round 5.23 am.

“The fire started in one store room and later spread to other rooms. Our team arrived with seven fire engines and drove five people out of the house but the old man died, ”stated Garg.

Police stated that no case has been registered but, they’re investigating.

“The fire was controlled with the help of firefighters and the local police team. Officers from DDMA, IGL and BSES were also on the spot. The family got trapped inside the house due to smoke but was saved in time. The old man was found unconscious and taken to Max Hospital where he was declared brought dead, ”stated DCP (South) Atul Kumar Thakur.
