Delhi: Man claiming to be member of Karni Sena arrested for hate speech video

The Ghaziabad police on Wednesday arrested a 32-year-old man for alleged hate speech in reference to a communal incident. According to the police, just lately a video went viral on social media by which Shekhar Chauhan, who claims to be a member of Karni Sena, could be heard making objectionable remarks in opposition to the minority group.

The video was shot throughout a gathering outdoors the Dasna temple in March this yr, when a Muslim boy was allegedly thrashed for ingesting water inside its premises.

“The accused was arrested from his Rajnagar Extension residence. Earlier this year, a case was registered against him at the Mussoorie police station for his comments. He was absconding. We are probing other associates and appropriate action will be taken,” mentioned an official of Mussoorie police station.

The FIR was registered below sections 153A (committing offense at a non secular place), 295A (intent to harm spiritual emotions), 504 (intentional insult), 505 (offence in a spot of worship) and related sections of the IT Act.

The accused is a resident of Shamli and within the clip that went viral, describes himself as a member of Karni Sena. In this, he talked about attacking pregnant girls of the minority group.
