The Municipal Corporations of Delhi are making renewed efforts to curb single use plastic within the capital markets. The South Delhi Municipal Corporation on Monday launched a marketing campaign in Yusuf Sarai, Kailash Colony and Green Park, by which 20 kg plastic luggage have been seized and three challans have been issued to the shopkeepers.

Citing environmental issues, the civic physique has banned single-use plastic objects like bottles, cups, glasses and polythene luggage.

During Wednesday’s marketing campaign individuals have been requested to make use of material or jute luggage as a substitute.
