The Crime Branch of Delhi Police on Sunday arrested a 22-year-old man in reference to the controversy at Chhatrasal Stadium, during which a wrestler was killed and two of his associates have been injured.
The accused Gaurav Laura, a resident of Haryana, can be a wrestler. He advised that he was residing right here in Baprola village of Najafgarh.
Police mentioned {that a} staff of Crime Branch probing the case arrested Laura from Delhi and she or he can be produced in Rohini courtroom looking for police remand for additional investigation.
“He was found involved in the incident at Chhatrasal Stadium here, where he was involved in a fight with others, leading to the death of the young wrestler,” a senior police officer mentioned.
Police advised 11 folks together with two-time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar, Arrests have been made within the case up to now.
Kumar, alongside along with his associates, allegedly assaulted Sagar Dhankhar and two of his associates on the stadium on the intervening night time of May 4 and 5 over an alleged property dispute. Dhankhar, 23, later succumbed to his accidents.
Police have claimed that Kumar is the “main culprit and mastermind” of the homicide and mentioned there may be digital proof during which he and his associates might be seen beating Dhankhar.
Kumar was arrested on May 23 together with co-accused Ajay Kumar Sehrawat. So far he’s in police and judicial custody for 10 and 23 days respectively.
