Delhi Police mentioned on Monday that two individuals have been arrested for allegedly withdrawing Rs 97,500 from the checking account of BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj utilizing faux cheques.

Police mentioned that the accused have been recognized as Dinesh Rai (30) and Nihal Sinha (27), residents of Patna in Bihar.

He mentioned a case of dishonest and forgery was registered on the Sansad Marg police station on a criticism that somebody had withdrawn Rs 97,500 from the checking account of BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj utilizing three solid cheques. The authentic checks have been with Sakshi Maharaj and the accused had solid signatures.

Police mentioned that in investigation, the account assertion of the complainant and a duplicate of the solid cheque have been obtained.

Sinha was traced to Patna and arrested through the raid. A senior police officer mentioned that ATM playing cards of varied banks have been recovered from his possession.

Rai was additionally arrested from the town on the behest of Sinha. A faux test and debit card have been recovered from him, the official mentioned.

During interrogation it was revealed that Rai was the kingpin of the racket. He organized for the faux test and gave it to Sinha. They used to current these checks in banks and deposit the cash in numerous accounts.

Later, they’ll withdraw cash from these financial institution accounts, the official mentioned.
