Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee wrote to the Prime Minister on Thursday Narendra Modi The proposed modification to the IAS (Cadre) Rules, 1954, once more emphasised that it could create “fear psychosis” amongst officers and have an effect on their efficiency.

In a letter to Modi on the problem for the second time in eight days, Banerjee stated the modification would “destroy” the federal material and the essential construction of the Constitution.

The central authorities has proposed amendments to the foundations, which might allow IAS officers to be posted on central deputation, bypassing the reservations of state governments.

Banerjee had written a letter to Modi on January 13, urging him to not go forward with the proposal.
