A home violence case towards a neighborhood BJP MLA has been closed on the request of the MLA’s spouse, a senior police officer stated on Monday.
Kangra Superintendent of Police (SP) Vimukt Ranjan stated that Oshin Sharma, spouse of BJP MLA Vishal Nehria, had given a grievance to the police, wherein she had accused her husband of assault and psychological torture.
On Monday, Sharma stated that she doesn’t need any police motion towards her husband.
“She said that she does not want any police action or criminal case to be registered against the MLA, so no further action will be taken from our side,” the SP stated.
On June 25, in an 11-minute video clip uploaded on social media, Sharma, a 2020 batch officer of the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service (HPAS), alleged that Nehria had slapped him thrice.
Sharma married Nehria on 26 April.
Nehria (32) was elected MLA from Dharamsala on a BJP ticket within the by-election held on October 24, 2019.
