Engineer sending ‘threatening messages’ arrested to BKU chief Rakesh Tikait

Ghaziabad police arrested an engineer for sending threatening messages to Rakesh Tikait, chief of the Indian Farmers Union.

According to police, Jitendra, an MTech graduate, had earlier threatened the chief with dire penalties.

On the eve of the completion of six months of farmers’ protest, Tikait had mentioned that the agitation would proceed until 2024 if the calls for weren’t met.

“We received complaints of threatening messages being sent to the farmer leader. We traced the number and other details of a resident of Delhi. It appears that there were ideological differences between the accused, due to which he sent those threats. He will be sent to judicial custody and other digital evidence will be examined, ”mentioned an officer at Kaushambi police station.

An FIR has been registered in opposition to IPC below Section 507 (Criminal Threat) and associated sections of the IT Act.

According to the police, the accused lives in Janakpuri on the age of 20 years. Police mentioned that he had been allegedly sending threatening messages to Tikait since April, together with threatening to kill him if the protests didn’t cease.
