England cricket officers will announce this week whether or not the scheduled Ashes collection in Australia will go forward.
The tour is doubtful because of the restrictions imposed because of the pandemic in Australia.
The England and Wales Cricket Board on Monday stated there may be “regular and positive dialogue” with Cricket Australia in regards to the Ashes tour preparations “with health and wellbeing at the fore”.
“We will continue to speak to our players this week to share the latest information and seek feedback,” the ECB stated.
“The ECB board will meet later this week to decide whether the place conditions are sufficient for the Tour to go ahead and to enable the selection of a team for a series of this importance.”
