Ensure well timed evacuation: PM evaluations cyclone preparedness

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday met senior officers to evaluate the preparations for the cyclone Yas on the east coast. Prime Minister Modi directed senior officers to work in shut coordination with the states to make sure protected evacuation of individuals from high-risk areas, and directed the departments to evacuate these concerned in offshore actions.

IMD officers mentioned within the assembly that the cyclone is ready to cross the coasts of West Bengal and North Odisha at a pace of 155-185 kmph by the night of 26 May. This assembly of the Prime Minister is going down on 22 May, a day after the National Crisis Management Committee assembly by the Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba with the Chief Secretaries of all coastal states and the involved ministries.

“The PM asked the officials to ensure proper coordination and planning with the state governments to ensure that there is no disruption of treatment and vaccination of Kovid in hospitals. He also spoke of the need to involve the district administration in the process of planning and preparation for better learning from best practices and uninterrupted coordination. The PM directed the officials to provide advice and instructions on what to do and what not to do during the cyclone, in an easy to understand and vernacular language to the citizens of the affected districts, ”a authorities press launch mentioned.
