European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen mentioned on Friday that the EU is able to impose sanctions with “huge costs” for Russia if Russian forces invade Ukraine.
“No doubt. If Russia were to act against Ukraine, the union would be in a position to take sanctions that could incur huge costs. We have done our part in that regard,” von der Leyen advised the EU’s consultant in Brussels. The leaders mentioned in a press convention after a summit.
