FIR towards UP temple priest for making ‘derogatory’ remarks towards Hindu ladies

The Mussoorie Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district has registered an FIR towards Swami Yeti Narasimhananda Saraswati, the priest of Dasna Devi temple, for allegedly making derogatory remarks towards Hindu ladies. A senior official gave this data on Tuesday.

Ghaziabad Superintendent of Police (Rural), Iraj Raja stated that in a purported video clip of the priest, which goes viral on social media, he’s sitting contained in the temple premises and making objectionable remarks on the relations of Hindu ladies with individuals of different religions. .

The FIR has been registered beneath sections 505-1(c) (intent to incite), 509 (insulting modesty of any lady), 504 (intentional insult with intent to impress breach of the peace), and 506 (legal intimidation). Section 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene materials in digital kind) of the Indian Penal Code, and the Information Technology Act, Raja stated.

The official stated authorized motion can be initiated after the investigation of the matter is accomplished.

Following the instructions of National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson Rekha Sharma, the police have registered a case towards Pujari.

In a tweet, Sharma had requested the Uttar Pradesh Police to register an FIR and arrest Pujari.
