Speaking to the BBC this morning, former cupboard minister Simon Clarke joined the criticism, saying: “Mr Lineker has a huge reach and the reality is he is clearly working at a publicly funded broadcaster , he is someone whose platform is largely based on his role at the BBC, he is saying things which are biased and I think which are also very unfair.”
