Former Bihar MLA, arrested close to Indo-Nepal border for greater than twenty years

Police stated former Bihar MLA Ranjan Tiwari, who was on the run for over twenty years, was arrested in Raxaul close to the Indo-Nepal border.

He stated that the accused needed within the case of firing on policemen by Uttar Pradesh Police had a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head.

A joint group of UP and Bihar police arrested him.

“The former MLA of Govindganj meeting seat in East Champaran district of Bihar was needed in a case of firing on police personnel in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh in 1998. East Champaran Superintendent of Police Kumar Ashish informed that he was absconding for greater than twenty years. PTI on Thursday.

“After finishing the preliminary formalities, they have been handed over to the UP Police for additional motion. We are additionally probing the circumstances registered in opposition to him in Bihar.

Raxaul Additional Superintendent of Police Chandra Prakash stated Tiwari was planning to flee to Kathmandu by way of Raxaul.
