Former Higher Education Secretary Amit Khare turns into PM Modi’s advisor

Former Higher Education Secretary Amit Khare, who retired from the IAS final month, was on Tuesday appointed as an advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a contract foundation.

As Higher Education Secretary, a 1985-batch Jharkhand cadre IAS Khare helped form the brand new National Education Policy (NEP).

According to an official order, after the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, as an advisor to the PM within the Prime Minister’s Office, Khare will benefit from the rank and scale of Secretary to the Central Government on contract foundation “initially for a period of two years”. or until additional orders, whichever is earlier.”

Khare, who holds an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, took cost because the Higher Education Secretary in December 2019. He served because the secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting between May 2018 and December 2019.

Khare was issued beneath the Information Technology (Intermediate Guidelines and Digital Media Code of Conduct) Rules, 2021.

As Deputy Commissioner of West Singhbhum (Chaibasa) between 1995-1997, Khare was instrumental in unearthing the fodder rip-off within the Animal Husbandry Department in undivided Bihar. B.Sc (Physics) graduate from St. Stephen’s College, Khare, previously Vice Chancellor of Ranchi University and Development Commissioner of Jharkhand.
