Former Mumbai participant and scorer Ranjita Rane died right here on Wednesday after battling most cancers.

She was in her mid-40s.

“It is very sad to say that former Mumbai cricketer and scorer Ranjita Rane has passed away,” a senior Mumbai Cricket Association official stated.

A well-known MCA scorer, who knew Rane, stated that she had been admitted to a metropolis hospital for the previous fortnight.

Medium-speed bowling all-rounder Rane performed 44 first-class matches for Mumbai from 1995 to 2003.

Prabhubhai Parmar, one other cricketer representing Saurashtra in home cricket, died on Tuesday as a consequence of COVID-19.

“Everyone at SCA is deeply saddened by the tragic demise of former Saurashtra cricketer Prabhubhai Parmar. He left for heavenly abode today while fighting a tough fight against COVID-19, ”the SCA stated in a media assertion late on Tuesday.

The 76-year-old performed 4 Ranji Trophy matches for Saurashtra in 1968–69.

Earlier on Monday, his spouse additionally misplaced her battle in opposition to COVID-19.

Former BCCI and SCA secretary Niranjan Shah expressed deep sorrow over the lack of Prabhubhai.

He remembered assembly Prabhubhai in December 2017 and spending memorable time with him at his residence in Bhavnagar.
