France to present free contraception to ladies as much as the age of 25

France’s Health Minister Olivier Veran stated on Thursday that France would make contraception free for ladies as much as age 25 from January 1, a brand new measure costing the dominion 21 million euros ($24.8 million) per 12 months.

The coverage is introduced as President Emmanuel Macron’s authorities prepares for the 2022 election marketing campaign.

“Contraception use among some young women has declined and this is mainly for financial reasons,” Veran advised France 2 tv.

“It is unbearable that women cannot protect themselves, cannot have access to contraception if they choose to take this option because it is too expensive,” she stated.

Until now, the age restrict free of charge entry to contraception in France was 18.
