Fraudsters cheated Rs 7.8 lakh on the pretext of getting a petroleum pump license from a Pune-based businessman.

In a press launch issued by Pimpri Chinchwad Police, it has been stated that Swaminathan Singh (49), a resident of Spine Road of Moshi Authority, has lodged an FIR on this matter at Bhosari MIDC police station on Tuesday.

According to the press launch, between December 2020 and April 2021, the alleged fraudster, who recognized himself as Rakesh Mishra, known as the complainant repeatedly with a proposal to offer him a petroleum pump license.

Police stated that the accused man allegedly demanded cash from the complainant for issuance of no-objection certificates and safety quantity required for petrol pump licence.

The complainant, who’s a businessman, was allegedly directed to switch Rs 7,80,600 to varied financial institution accounts. When the complainant didn’t get the license, even after doing so, he approached the police.

The police have registered a case in opposition to the accused individual underneath sections 420, 419 of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Information Technology (IT) Act. Police Inspector Pradeep Patil is probing the case.
