German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visits cricket stadium in Bengaluru, spends time with RCB gamers

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Sunday visited the M Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium right here and interacted with the women and men gamers of the Royal Challengers Bangalore crew.

Scholz spoke to officers of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), RCB males’s and ladies’s crew members for about quarter-hour.
A German embassy official stated the chancellor understands that cricket is India’s primary ardour in relation to sports activities.

“Cricket isn’t that in style in Germany. However, there are greater than 200,000 Indians in Germany making the sport in style there.
So, Scholz needed to elucidate himself concerning the recreation and what cricket means to India, the official stated.

“Also, he wanted to understand what RCB, both the men’s and women’s teams, mean to the city, especially when the RCB women’s team is entering the first season of the Women’s Premier League,” the official added.

Earlier within the afternoon, the Chancellor of Germany reached Kempegowda International Airport. He was acquired by Karnataka Health Minister Okay Sudhakar, officers from the German Consulate and Bengaluru Police Commissioner CH Prathap Reddy.

Later, Sudhakar tweeted: “Welcoming the Chancellor of Germany, His Excellency @OlafScholz to Bangalore at Kempegowda International Airport at the moment. This is the primary go to of the Chancellor of Germany to India since 2011, when the Inter-Governmental Consultation (IGC) was established between our two international locations. Scholz is on a two-day go to to India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with the Chancellor of Germany in Delhi on Saturday.
