New Zealand captain Kane Williamson on Monday described the draw in opposition to India within the first Test right here as a “great result” for his staff as their preparations for the tour have been “disjointed”.

“Yesterday the game was in balance and for us it was like some old school Test cricket, batting and surviving a day which is not often seen in recent years, so it was a lot of fun and good to come. “
