The oldest residing individual on this planet has been recognized as a 118-year-old nun residing in a nursing house in France.
Lucile Randon aka Sister André, whose precise age is 118 years and 73 days, has been acknowledged by the Guinness World Records (GWR) because the now official oldest residing individual. She was born in 1904 and has even survived Covid-19 to turn into the oldest individual on this planet to take action.
Randon can be the oldest residing nun on this planet in the meanwhile.
According to a press release launched by GWR, she achieved this feat after Kane Tanaka of Japan handed away earlier this month on the age of 119. Randon took the identify of ‘Sister André’ in 1944, and is the third-oldest French individual and the The third-oldest European individual to have ever been recorded.
The nun has lived an attention-grabbing life, for in her youthful years, she labored as a trainer and a governess, and in addition sorted kids throughout World War II. Having spent 28 years working with orphans and aged folks at a hospital, she grew to become a Catholic nun.
According to the knowledge shared by GWR, she was made an ‘honorary citizen’ of Toulon, Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur area, France, and acquired a letter from Pope Francis in 2019.
