Guwahati will host its first Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in April with the BCCI allotting Rajasthan Royals two ‘dwelling’ video games within the northeastern metropolis on Friday.

Assam Cricket Association (ACA) CEO Pritam Mahant mentioned that Rajasthan Royals will play in opposition to Punjab Kings within the first match and Delhi Capitals within the second.

“We are delighted to announce that the ACA Stadium, Guwahati will host two matches of the Tata IPL on April 5 and April 8, 2023,” he mentioned in an announcement.

“Guwahati will be the ‘home’ venue for the Rajasthan Royals,” he added.

Rajasthan Royals will play the remainder of their dwelling matches in Jaipur.

Guwahati have been allotted two matches of the Rajasthan Royals in April 2020, however needed to cancel them because of the outbreak of the pandemic and the following restrictions.

The Jaipur-based franchise had earlier partnered with the ACA for a cricket academy, which is now purposeful on the ACA Stadium.
