Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane, who performed the crime-solving psychologist within the Harry Potter movies TV collection Cracker and Half-Giant Hagrid, has died. He was 72 years previous.

Coltrane’s agent Belinda Wright mentioned he died Friday at a hospital in Scotland. He did not give any purpose.

Robbie Coltrane rose to fame as a hardened detective within the Nineties collection Cracker, for which he gained Best Actor on the three-year working British Academy Television Awards.

He performed the mild semi-giant Hagrid, a Harry Potter mentor, in all eight Harry Potter movies launched between 2001 and 2011.

Robbie Coltrane garnered rave critiques for taking part in a beloved TV star who could also be hiding a darkish secret within the 2016 miniseries National Treasure.

Belinda Wright mentioned that “as well as being an amazing actor, he was forensically intelligent, brilliantly funny and, after 40 years proud to be called my agent, I will miss him.”

Wright mentioned that Robbie Coltrane is survived by his sister Annie Rae, his ex-wife Rona Gemmel and their kids Spencer and Ellis.
