A 40-year-old man, a resident of Kasar village in Haryana’s Jhajjar district, succumbed to his accidents within the early hours of Thursday and his kin alleged that he was set ablaze by 4 males who had been a part of a farmers’ protest on the Tikri border.

The deceased has been recognized as Mukesh. According to police officers, an FIR has been registered in opposition to 4 folks.

“The victim’s family has alleged that four men sprinkled petrol or diesel and set her on fire. One of the accused has been identified as Krishna of Jind,” mentioned Pawan Kumar, DSP (Bahadurgarh).

“Right now, it is not clear what was the matter and whether the accused and the victim knew each other beforehand. We are investigating further,” he mentioned.

The folks of Mukesh’s village informed that he was the bus driver. He had gone out for a stroll round 6 pm on Wednesday.

“Mukesh’s brother Madan called me and asked me to come to the bypass. When I reached there, Mukesh had already been set on fire. We called an ambulance and took him to the civil hospital. In the ambulance, he told us that he was drinking with four men who told him that they were part of the farmers’ movement. They said they set her on fire with a match stick, Mukesh succumbed at around 2.30 pm,” mentioned village sarpanch Tony Kumar.

“As far as we know, Mukesh had never met these people before. We don’t know why he did this. We don’t think farmers will do anything like this. He was the only earning member of his family. How will his wife and children handle now? The government should compensate them,” he mentioned.
