Police on Friday registered an FIR towards six individuals, together with an unidentified particular person, for allegedly assaulting, intimidating and attempting to extort Rs 31 lakh from a non-public firm worker.

However, he mentioned that the claims made by the sufferer are but to be confirmed.

According to the FIR lodged, the accused then requested the sufferer to name her father and hand over Rs 31 lakh as extortion.

The accused have been recognized as Mirchandani’s good friend Anil Ajalkar, Raja (fitness center coach), Manjeet, Shavi Verma and Kapil Bhatt and an unidentified particular person.

“By exhibiting scissors, knives, sticks and weapons, the accused threatened to kill the sufferer if their calls for weren’t met. The sufferer known as his good friend Vikas Goyal to switch Rs 31 lakh to his checking account, citing an emergency.

“I spoke to Anil (accused) through a conference call from him. Vikas requests Anil to accept Rs 5 lakh as initial payment till he can arrange the balance amount. Around 7 pm, I got a call from Vikas who asked me to collect money from the place where his car was parked,” the complainant advised the police.

Suspecting the involvement of the police, Anil alongside along with his three accomplices fled the spot. Soon after, the sufferer ran downstairs and located his good friend Vikas together with the cops. He was then taken to the police station and an FIR was registered primarily based on his criticism.

A case was registered towards six individuals underneath sections 120-B, 323, 34, 341, 386 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

The police haven’t been capable of arrest any of the accused to this point. Inspector Sushil Kumar, SHO of MDC police station mentioned, “Our preliminary investigation signifies a monetary dispute between the 2 events. The claims of the sufferer are but to be confirmed.”
