A 30-year-old “health visa holder” from an African nation, who had come to Bengaluru for kidney therapy, was arrested on the airport after authorities found a 1.3 kg cocaine capsule value Rs 11 crore inside his abdomen. .

Investigations by the Directorate of Police and Revenue Intelligence (DRI) have revealed that the person from the West Asian nation on Tuesday was getting used as a mule.

A senior police officer declined to disclose particulars about him, together with his title and nationality, with officers suspecting he could also be half of a bigger drug trafficking community.

The man was apprehended by the Bengaluru unit of DRI on the Kempegowda International Airport on the idea of a tip-off. Nothing was discovered within the examination of his baggage. But DRI officers with credible info performed a medical scan of the suspect and located a big amount of capsules in his abdomen. The man was admitted to the hospital to have the capsule eliminated. Officials then confirmed that the capsule contained cocaine.
