Heavy rain in ghat areas of Pune on Friday: IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rainfall (64.4 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours) in Ghat areas of Pune district on Friday.

However, the town limits will expertise mild depth rainfall through the day.

Since Thursday, the climate of the town has modified from sunshine to cloudy sky. On Friday, 24 hours of rain was Shivajinagar – 3.7 mm, Lohegaon – 3.2 mm and Pashan – 2 mm.

Due to extended drought from the third week of June, the town’s seasonal rainfall is now 12.7 per cent under regular.

With a gradual transition into the energetic section, circumstances are growing for the revival of the Southwest Monsoon. Consequently, the rain exercise is ready to enhance over Maharashtra and Pune within the coming days.
