Producer Ajay Kapoor has bagged the rights for the Hindi remake of the much-loved Tamil movie 96 starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha.
The 2018 romantic drama adopted the story of two highschool sweethearts of the 1996 batch, who meet at a reunion after 22 years of separation.
The forged and director for the remake are but to be introduced. Ajay Kapoor mentioned he determined to transform 96 to Hindi as a result of the heartwarming, light-hearted romantic story had the power to cross the language barrier.
“The story breaks barriers beyond language and region boundaries, which inspired me to remake the film in Hindi for a national audience,” the producer mentioned in a press release.
“I’m actively engaged on growing the best script for the story with the director and the correct of star forged. Once we finalize every little thing, I wish to make an official announcement of the forged and crew quickly.”
Directed by C Premkumar, 96 was praised for its nuanced performances and have become a blockbuster upon its launch.
