Humble to guide my nation: Shikhar Dhawan

Opener Shikhar Dhawan, who has been entrusted with the accountability of main the Indian workforce on the Sri Lanka tour, on Friday stated he feels humbled after being appointed the captain of the nationwide workforce.

India will play three ODIs and as many T20Is in Colombo from July 13. The selectors on Thursday picked some recent faces for the Sri Lanka sequence as the principle workforce is within the UK for the World Test Championship remaining and the 5 Tests in opposition to England.

“Humbled by the opportunity to lead my country. Thank you for all your well wishes,” Dhawan tweeted.

The 35-year-old has performed 34 Tests, 145 ODIs and 65 T20Is.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been made Dhawan’s deputy.

Five gamers together with Okay Gautam, Devdutt Padikkal, Nitish Rana, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Chetan Sakariya have acquired their first India name for the sequence.
