The Hyundai IONIQ 5 EV has gained the 2022 German Car of the Year (GCOTY) title. The award was offered to Hyundai at its European headquarters, Offenbach am Main. The trophy was accepted by Michael Kohl, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Europe and Jurgen Keller, Managing Director, Hyundai Motor Germany. Commenting on the end result, Cole stated, “In such a competitive environment, winning this award-winning IONIQ 5 shows us that we have a vehicle that is clearly different from our competitors. This win also shows us that Battery electric vehicles are relevant to our European customers.
