IIT-Delhi college students to search out options to social issues in rural, semi-urban areas

IIT-Delhi on Wednesday launched the ‘Grassroots Innovation Program (GRIP)’ beneath which college students from rural and semi-urban areas will work on discovering new options to their recognized grassroots social issues, together with these from the neighborhood. The initiative was initiated by Prof Okay Vijay Raghavan, Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India.

Appreciating the initiative taken by IIT Delhi, Professor Raghavan expressed the hope that GRIP will outcome within the improvement of many modern options for the society.

As part of this new initiative, the next two actions are proposed:

a) Social Immersion: A bunch of scholars will go to communities situated in small cities and villages to immerse themselves within the social surroundings for ample time (per week to months) to review, perceive and establish native wants and challenges, Which can presumably be addressed by college students when the institute returns to campus.
