Ilaiyaraaja reveals what he was doing on the day of son Yuvan Shankar Raja’s delivery: ‘Was busy making songs’

Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja is celebrating his forty third birthday at the moment, and his followers took to social media to want him a contented birthday. But one message has grabbed essentially the most consideration. It is from Yuvan’s father, Ilaiyaraaja, the eminent Tamil musician.

In a brief video, Ilaiyaraaja shared how Yuvan was born. The veteran musician stated, “At one level of time, I used to be within the behavior of writing songs in Aliyar Dam (Pollachi). I used to remain within the visitor home there and compose songs for two-three movies. Director Mahendran and KRG (producer KR Gangadharan) took me there for one such session. Me and my troop have been composing day by day and since KRG had a home in Coimbatore, he used to drive backwards and forwards. One night, he got here again from house and stated to me, ‘Hey, your spouse has given delivery to a boy.’ Look at me, even then I used to be busy writing songs as a substitute of being with and taking good care of my spouse. It did not matter a lot to him both. When I bought the information, I used to be composing the track Senorita I really like you from Johnny… Rajni sir’s movie. And the boy born at 0 that day was Yuvan! Happy birthday, Yuvan (sic).

Senorita I Love You is certainly one of Ilaiyaraaja’s hundreds of hits. It was sung by late singer SP Balasubramaniam. The track was written by Ilaiyaraaja’s youthful brother Gangai Amaran. Johnny (1989), directed by Mahendran, starred Rajinikanth, Sridevi, Deepa, Balaji and Suruli Rajini within the lead roles.

Yuvan Shankar Raja made his debut as a composer on the age of 18 with the movie Aravind (1997). Over the years, Yuvan has change into a cultural icon, whose songs are known as ‘medication’ by his followers. He has composed hit albums like Katradhu Tameez, Pudupettai, Paruthiveeran, Billa, Goa and Manakatha. His final movie was Karthi’s Viruman.
