Six months after internet hosting Virat Kohli’s one hundredth Test match, the IS Bindra PCA International Stadium will host the primary match of the India-Australia T20I collection on September 20 later this month. This would be the forty fifth worldwide match to be performed on the stadium.
While the primary Test match of India-Sri Lanka hosted 50 per cent followers on the stadium because of the Covid-19 restrictions, the T20I match is predicted to see full crowd. This would be the first match wherein the newly elected Executive Committee of the PCA will probably be beneath the supervision of the brand new President and former India Under-19 participant Gulzar Inder Chahal. “Punjab Cricket Association is set to host the first T20I match of the three-match India-Australia T20I series. We are looking forward to hosting the match with 100 per cent capacity and the PCA President and other members of the PCA Executive Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday this week to oversee the preparations for the match,” Punjab Cricket Association CEO Deepak Sharma mentioned. While the stadium has hosted 5 T20Is, India has performed three T20Is on the stadium and received all three T20I matches on the stadium. In 2009, the Indian group registered a six-wicket win over Sri Lanka, whereas the Indian group registered a six-wicket win over Australia in Mohali in 2016 to enter the semi-finals of the ICC World T20. Tickets on offer and poor planning of ticket sales. T20I matches at the stadium always see a crowd of cricket fans and we are eagerly waiting for the ticket sales to start. We also expect that the ticket prices will not go up drastically,” mentioned Himanshu Dhamija, a pupil of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran, Mohali.
