A month after the disengagement at Gogra-Hot Springs (PP-15), India and China on Friday held their twenty fifth assembly of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC).
An official assertion from the Ministry of External Affairs mentioned: “Both sides reviewed the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the western sector of the India-China border areas. Recalling the developments after the last meeting of the WMCC in May 2022, they welcomed the decommissioning in the area of ​​Gogra-Hot Springs (PP-15) carried out in a phased, coordinated and verified manner between 8-12 September 2022… ”
It mentioned that the 2 sides agreed to proceed discussions by way of diplomatic and navy channels to resolve the remaining points alongside the LAC on the earliest in order to create situations for restoration of normalcy in bilateral relations.
