India was on Thursday re-elected to the UN Human Rights Council for a time period of 2022-24 and vowed to proceed working for the promotion and safety of human rights by “respect, dialogue and cooperation”.

The United Nations General Assembly was elected by secret poll by Argentina, Benin, Cameroon, Eritrea, Finland, Gambia, Honduras, India, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Montenegro, Paraguay, Qatar, Somalia, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.
