Indian-American Republican candidate for NY district election apologizes for tweet concentrating on Muslims

An Indian-American Republican candidate working for the upcoming normal election for New York State Assembly District 16 has apologized for a tweet concentrating on the Muslim group, saying he by no means supposed to harm anybody.

Vibhuti Jha, 70, who has now deleted the tweet, is contesting towards Democrat Gina Cilitti for the New York State Assembly District 16 elections to be held on Tuesday.

“I deleted a tweet that someone forwarded to me several months ago! I believe that some Muslim groups were unhappy with the content and comparisons made in it. I/Your joke didn’t go down well. I confirm that the intention was never to hurt anyone,” Jha had tweeted final week.

“I wish to add that I’ve superb Muslim mates – we share mutual respect for one another and share jokes and laughs throughout this tough time. Friendship is about sharing pleasure, anger and shifting on with life We should face our challenges collectively,” he mentioned.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Jha is the managing director of New York-based monetary companies agency Global Capital Service Group. He can also be the co-founder of thoughts and physique health app, RelaxXApp.

The sixteenth State Assembly District of New York is without doubt one of the 150 districts of the New York State Legislative Assembly. It is being represented by Siliti since 2021.
